Middlers are very interested in God and the fact that He created the world and everything in it. They want to get to know Him more personally. This makes praying to God just as natural as talking to his mother or father. Middlers take prayer seriously, expecting answers. As teachers, we need to help guide them in their prayer life so it doesn’t become a “do this-do that” kind of a conversation with God, but rather one where the students are encouraged to listen as well. This is a great age to introduce the idea of writing out prayers in a prayer journal.
