Try the activities described below to help students review and remember verses:
- Verse Shuffle: Divide each review verse into four parts, and write each part on a 3 x 5 card. You will need one verse for each student participating. Shuffle the cards and deal four cards to each player. At the signal, each player passes one card that she does not want by laying it to his right on the table. The player then picks up the card that was laid on his left to see if he wants it. He may pass this card or choose another card to pass to the right. The students continue passing and picking up cards until one person receives all four parts of a verse and lays them in order on the table.
- Ball Toss: Have the students sit or stand in a circle. Give a soft ball to the first player, who will begin with the first word of the verse. After she says her word, have her toss the ball to another player, who says the second word, and so on. Variation: When students know the verse well, time them to see how fast they can say the verse while throwing the ball. See if the students can beat their own time.
