Ministering to Special Needs Children

As a teacher of a special needs child, it is imperative that you are convinced that God did not make a mistake when he created these children. Just because one part of a child’s body may be disabled, impaired, or handicapped doesn’t mean that he or she is incapable of spiritual insight and growth. The spirit of a child is still fully intact and in your care. Two great resources for teaching children with special needs in a Sunday School environment are Childhood Education in the Church by Clark Brubaker Zuck and Let All the Children Come to Me: A Practical Guide to Including Children with Disabilities in Your Church Ministries by Hood, Breeding, and Whitworth. Both are available from the RBP store.
